Kstew as Lisbeth Salander in Millenium?

Earlier this week here at Popcorn disclose that Sony Pictures is negotiating to buy the rights to the series Millennium, and now there is news for the project. In addition to highlighting the star George Clooney as the character Mikael Blomkvist, the actress who will interpret the Lisbeth Salander has no name.

Well, Kristen Stewart, Bella of the Twilight series, is listed to play the hacker in the trilogy Millennium. Kristen, like Clooney, is considered the only option of Sony, which already holds the rights to adapt.

Also revealed two actresses who would like to interpret the hacker. Ellen Page and Natalie Portman have said they are interested in the role.

Are they seriously doing this? I've read the books - they're awesome and I saw the first film which freaked me out and I did not watch the other ones. Honestly, I would like to see Kristen in this role but who knows - the American remake might just be even better.

****SPOILER ALERT!****
There's a sex scene between the two characters Mikael and Lisbeth. Not sure if I wanna see Kristen and George Clooney do that scene together O.O

honestly i'm not fond at all of the idea of hollywood remaking this movie.
hollywood would probably just ruin it.

the swedish movies are good (but shocking) and from what i've heard from people that read the books the movie is very close to the books. plus i think noomi rapace does a good job at playing lisbeth.

from what I've read of the books/first movie adaptation this would be something extremely edgy...and I am worried a HW adaptation would ruin that :/ while I want Kris to play the role of an edgy character with a lot going on and that's very smart and you name it, I don't want her to be transformed into a Lara Croft type of character...

I liked the movie and I think that K would be great as Lisbeth...

I've never seen the films so if she does pursue it, I'm going into it with no preconceived notions. So I'm good.

I've been watching videos and reading up about this particular series. Sounds interesting. I really wanna read the books now. Lisbeth Salander's character description matches Kristen perfectly. I think KStew's acting style is very fitting for thrillers. I wonder if this is the role KStew auditioned for when she went back to LA for a weekend during Eclipse filming?

Screenwriter: Steve Zaillian (American Gangster/Schindler's List)
Producer: Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men/Revolutionary Road)

That's a win already.

Oh, thoose movies are huge in Sweden! (I live there). Would be cool to see this in an american tap. I don't like Swedish films so I really hope this will happen! And Kristen as Lisbeth would be awesome!

OH!

I've been reading the books and imagining Keira Knightley as Lisbeth. Kristen might be too young...but she can pull it off too. This is a great role for her! Lisbeth is such an interesting character, a heroine and anti-heroine at the same time.

This series is amazing. Lisbeth Salander is certainly one of my favorite fictional characters. The swedish adaptation is spot on, and the actress who played Lisbeth is perfect for the role. I can't see another Lisbeth. However, it would be interesting to see Kristen play this antihero.

Also... this means.. if she accepts the role, she'll chop off her hair once again. Oh noes. :( But imagine all the tattoos , eye makeup, black lipstick, and the leather she'll be wearing. She can nail it. I'm actually excited.

Give it to Kristen! This seems to be fitting for her and Kstew and Clooney would be UNF together...

Well i trust Kristen's judgement, if she wants to do it then il see it. I havent heard of the books/film so i have no opinion either way. LOL Anna will be jealous though, she didnt get to make out with Clooney!!

I seriously hope this is not true. As much as i love Kristen and Lisbeth character in the book, i think she is too young to play Lisbeth (she is 26 in the book) and i also wouldnt want to see Kristen involved in another franchise soon.
